Relationship between the mind & body
The mind and body are interconnected in a way that, when one begins to suffer, the other gets affected. Our mind, after all, is influenced by the biochemistry of our brain.
When we are in a state of emotional distress, we may not feel motivated to exercise. Exercise releases endorphins in our brain—which are naturally occurring chemicals that make us feel happy. The lesser we exercise, the lesser the number of endorphins released—we continue to stay unmotivated, and the cycle continues.
To maintain our mental wellbeing, it is essential to care for our physical health by eating a nutritious diet, engaging in regular physical activity, and getting adequate rest and sleep.
